“…remembering without ceasing your work of faith, labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ…” — 1 Thessalonians 1:3
Faith is not just something we believe— it is something we live.
Real faith produces work.
Not work to earn salvation, but work that flows out of salvation.
Faith becomes visible through obedience, action, and the choices we make daily.
1. Faith Acts
Faith is not idle or silent.
It moves your feet, your hands, and your heart.
Noah built an ark because he believed
Abraham left his homeland because he believed
The woman touched Jesus’ garment because she believed
Peter stepped onto the water because he believed
Faith does not wait until everything is perfect;
it steps out because God is faithful.
2. Faith Obeys Even When It Doesn’t Understand
Sometimes faith leads you into places that don’t make sense to the natural mind.
You may not see the whole path, but you follow because you trust the One who leads.
Faith says:
“I will forgive” even when it hurts
“I will give” even when it feels costly
“I will go” even when the journey is unclear
“I will pray” even when answers seem delayed
Obedience is the work of faith coming alive.
Reflection Questions
What is God asking me to do that requires faith?
Is my faith producing action, or is it only in words?
Where do I need to trust God more deeply today? Bishop David
3. Faith Produces Change
Where faith is active, transformation happens.
Faith:
changes habits
heals relationships
shifts atmospheres
moves mountains
strengthens weak hearts
Faith is not stagnant—it grows, shapes, corrects, and builds.
4. Faith Brings Glory to God
The work of faith is not about showing off human strength;
it is about revealing God’s power.
Every step of obedience is a testimony that He is trustworthy.
When you walk by faith, people see Christ in you.
Your faith becomes:
a light to the discouraged
a witness to the unbelieving
a strength to the weary
a fragrance of Christ wherever you go
Prayer
Lord, strengthen my faith so that it becomes active, bold, and obedient. Help me to trust You fully and to walk in the works that You have prepared for me. Let my life display the beauty and power of true faith. Amen.
