“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” — Matthew 22:37
When Jesus was asked to name the greatest commandment, He didn’t hesitate. He went straight to the heart. Before service, before sacrifice, before any outward act—God desires our love.
To love God with all your heart means giving Him the center of your affections, desires, and motivations. It’s more than feelings; it’s a deep devotion that shapes every choice we make. It means God is not just part of your life—He is your life.
This kind of love is wholehearted, not divided. It shows up in the way we pray, the way we forgive, and the way we respond to challenges. When God has your heart, He transforms your character. Your priorities shift. Your peace deepens. Your joy becomes unshakeable.
Don’t quit, and don’t give up. The reward is just around the corner. And in times of doubt or times of joy, listen for that still.
Bishop David
But here’s the beautiful truth: You can only love God fully because He first loved you fully.
His love empowers your love.
Take a moment today and ask yourself:
What occupies most of my heart?
Where is God inviting me to love Him more deeply?
What step can I take today to align my heart with His?
As you surrender more of your heart to Him, you will discover that His love is the source of true life, true identity, and true purpose.
Prayer:
Lord, teach me to love You with all my heart. Remove every distraction, every fear, and every idol that competes for my affection. Fill my heart with Your love so that my life reflects Your goodness. Amen.
